Data Deletion Instructions

Overview

You can request deletion of your Social account and associated personal data at any time. This page describes how to submit a request and what happens after you do. For general privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.

Option 1: Delete in the app

If you are signed in to Social:

  1. Open Settings (or your profile menu).
  2. Select Account or Privacy.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.

Account deletion begins immediately. Most personal data is removed or anonymized within 30 days. Some information may be retained longer where required by law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention and backup retention cycles.

Option 2: Email request

If you cannot access your account, email us from the address linked to your account:

Include the following in your message:

  • Subject line: Data Deletion Request — Social
  • Your registered email address or phone number
  • Your username (if applicable)
  • A brief statement that you want your account and data deleted

We may ask you to verify your identity before processing the request to protect your account from unauthorized deletion.

Facebook / Meta login users

If you signed up using Facebook Login, you can also remove the app from your Facebook settings:

  1. Go to Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings.
  2. Open Apps and Websites.
  3. Select Social (CodeMez) and choose Remove.

Removing the app from Facebook stops future data sharing from Facebook. To delete data already stored by Social, use in-app deletion or email us as described above.

What we delete

When your deletion request is completed, we typically remove or anonymize:

  • Profile information (name, email, phone, photo, bio)
  • Posts, comments, messages, and media you uploaded
  • Authentication tokens and session data
  • Preferences and in-app settings tied to your account

What may be retained

We may retain limited information when necessary to:

  • Comply with legal obligations, court orders, or law enforcement requests;
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements;
  • Maintain security logs and aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

Processing time

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within 30 days. You will receive confirmation by email when processing is finished, if an email address was on file.
